Conway’s is your partner in healthcare. We offer a variety of health services that can save you a trip to the doctor, and that can help you manage your health more effectively. Conway’s Pharmacy located in Eganville, Ontario, has been owned and operated by Joseph Conway since June 1983. A cornerstone of success has been the long tradition of the pharmacy being a family-owned and operated business. Located adjacent to the southeast corner of the Highway 41 bridge, the pharmacy is a place that feels like home for many and has long been a recognized touchstone in the community. Conway’s Pharmacy has four pharmacists on staff, as well as one pharmacy technician. In addition to prescription and health care services, the pharmacy also offers compounding, the ability to customize a drug in dosage and form to assist clients. Conway’s operates in a team-oriented practice model where all pharmacists and staff work with the client’s entire healthcare team to meet each individual’s healthcare needs. MedsCheck If you are taking three or more chronic medications, have diabetes, are a resident at a long-term care home, or are physically unable to get in for a visit to the pharmacy, Conway’s suggests a MedsCheck appointment – free to those with a valid OHIP card – to review your prescription and non-prescription medications in detail. Compliance Aids Compliance aids help you remember if and when you have taken your medication. They come in various forms and some can even indicate the time and day you should be taking your medication. Influenza Vaccinations Conway’s pharmacists can administer the annual flu vaccine to anyone five years of age and older in the Universal Influenza Immunization Program. Compounding Prescriptions If your medications are not commercially available in the dose or form they were prescribed, Conway’s can create the medication in a form or dose for you. This creation of the medication is called compounding. Smoking Cessation Support In addition to recommending over-the-counter medications to help you quit smoking, your Conway’s pharmacist can prescribe certain medications for smoking cessation. Clinic Days To help you learn about specific health conditions such as heart disease or diabetes, Conway’s holds specialized clinic days that focus on education or risk assessment. Medication Delivery If you are unable to pick up your prescription, Conway’s is pleased to offer delivery. Speak to us about your delivery needs. Renewing a Prescription If you are taking medication for a chronic condition and you cannot get in to see your physician for a refill, you can ask your pharmacist to renew your prescription. This service does not replace the need to see your physician for regular check-ups and prescription renewals but is available in case of need. The maximum length of time that your pharmacist may renew your prescription is for six months or for the length of the original prescription, whichever is less. Note: Prescription renewal does not apply to narcotics or select drug classifications. Adapting a Prescription If appropriate, your Conway’s pharmacist may choose to change the dose, dosage form, frequency, or route of administration of your prescription to better meet your healthcare needs. Any changes made would be done with your consent, documented, and shared with your doctor.
