We offer this service in the comfort of the patient's home. BLISTER PACKS We put medications in blister packs (used to separate doses) at no extra cost (weekly or bi-weekly). PRESCRIPTION TRANSFERS Transferring your prescriptions to us is quick and easy. Fill out a transfer request online to have your prescriptions transferred from your last pharmacy. Use the "Select-a-Service" drop-down. PRESCRIPTION REFILLS Submit your refill request online to easily order your prescription refills. Use the "Select-a-Service" drop-down. PRESCRIPTION RENEWALS Have a pharmacist renew a prescription or provide you with a refill extension if deemed appropriate, to help you avoid any interruptions. PRESCRIPTION DELIVERY We offer free delivery for your prescriptions. VACCINATIONS & IMMUNIZATIONS Our injection-certified pharmacists can administer most immunizations, travel vaccinations and certain medications. Click on the “Select-a-Service” dropdown above. DIABETES COUNSELLING Help with the screening, education, and referral of patients with diabetes. PHARMACY SMOKING CESSATION PROGRAM Help to quit smoking, available for Ontario Drug Benefit recipients. NALOXONE TAKE-HOME KITS Free emergency response kits for opioid overdose. HOME CARE SUPPLIES AND MOBILITY AIDS Enjoy our wide selection of home care products which include compression socks, geriatric products as well as mobility aids such as walkers, scooters, and wheelchairs. We offer safety equipment installation (bathroom safety equipment, stair lifts etc.) OVER-THE-COUNTER MEDICATION Review or assessment of over the counter medications, natural health products, or vitamins to ensure they are positively contributing to your health. Speak with one of our pharmacists. SHARPS DISPOSAL PROGRAM Safe disposal of syringes, pen needles, lancets, insulin, pump infusion supplies, and test strips. MEDICATIONS RETURN PROGRAM Safe disposal of expired or unused medications, creams, and inhalers. MINOR AILMENTS As of January 1, 2023, as per regulations your Elgin Drugs Pharmacy pharmacist will be authorized and ready to prescribe medications for 13 minor ailments that include: Allergic rhinitis Candidal stomatitis (oral thrush) Conjunctivitis (bacterial, allergic and viral) Dermatitis (atopic, eczema, allergic and contact) Dysmenorrhea Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) Hemorrhoids Herpes labialis (cold sores) Impetigo Insect bites and urticaria (hives) Tick bites, post-exposure prophylaxis to prevent Lyme disease Musculoskeletal sprains and strains Urinary tract infections (uncomplicated) Dispensing fee plus medication costs * prescribed medications may be covered by OHIP Speak with our pharmacy team to learn more about how we can help and the services we have available to support you and your family.
