Our Physiotherapists work with clients of all ages and with a wide range of injuries & health conditions. Whether it’s pain management and rehabilitation from an acute injury like a sprained ankle or low back injury, and/or management of chronic conditions such as chronic regional pain syndrome, physiotherapy can help.
Our Massage Therapists Massage can treat specific health conditions, and the body as a whole. A variety of techniques and modalities may be used to achieve desired effects, according to your specific treatment goals, and the specific skillset of your Massage Therapist.
Our Physiotherapists & Massage Therapists assess using detailed history-taking as well as specific physical tests and measures, such as flexibility or range of motion. They will then analyze the assessment findings and use clinical reasoning to establish a diagnosis. Together, you will explore your current abilities and functional needs to plan treatments that are consistent with your goals and general health status, and which incorporate approaches and techniques supported by the best evidence available.

Massage therapy provided after a surgical procedure to help reduce pain, improve circulation, and promote relaxation in the affected area.
A subsequent appointment with a physical therapist to monitor progress, adjust treatment, and ensure continued recovery.
An initial evaluation by a physical therapist to assess a patient's condition and develop a treatment plan.

Physiotherapist
Ashley grew up in Porter’s Lake & graduated from Dalhousie University in 2005 with Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy.
She has taken extensive post-graduate training in manual therapy, pre & post natal physiotherapy, exercise prescription, acupuncture and dry needling, neuromobilization, chronic pain management, and concussion management.
Ashley is a co-owner of PhysioLink Porters Lake with Shauna, and they strive to support and help our local Eastern Shore communities towards best health & wellness practices.

Physiotherapist
Shauna grew up in PEI, and received a BScKIN from UNB in 2006. She then went to Dalhousie University and received an MScPT in 2008.
She has taken extensive post-graduate training in manual therapy, exercise prescription, McKenzie Method, advanced acupuncture and dry needling, and neuromobilization techniques.
Shauna is a co-owner of PhysioLink Porters Lake with Ashley, and they strive to support and help our local Eastern Shore communities towards best health & wellness practices.
Shauna is currently working with her Golden Retriever, Eddie, on his Therapy Dog certification.

Physiotherapist
Amanda grew up in Porters Lake, NS. She is a double alumna of Dalhousie University completing both her BSc. in Kinesiology and MSc. in Physiotherapy. Amanda has volunteered as an athletic trainer for multiple sporting events and has been the athletic trainer for the NS U15 Major Gulls since 2017. She currently serves as a board member of Sport Physiotherapy Canada- NS section.
Amanda uses an individualized approach to rehabilitation, selecting from various evidence-based techniques to support her patients. She has post-graduate training in Orthopaedic Physiotherapy, K-taping, Acupuncture, Complete Concussion Management, and is a certified Sport First Responder.
