Counsellor
Andrea Fernando is a Canadian Certified Counsellor at Nuway Counselling. Andrea has completed her BSc in Psychology at York University. She understands that the wounds and scars that one cannot see are just as important, and often more important than those that one can see. She is familiar with CBT, humanistic methods, and helping clients learn about themselves and how to work with the challenges they are facing. She believes that through the formation of a strong therapeutic relationship, the client and counsellor can work collaboratively to help the client understand themselves and their challenges to identify and achieve their goals.

Since 2017, Olive has provided genetic counselling to multiple families and intended parenting to ease some of their concerns or anxieties in their journey of creating a family. She is fluent in Mandarin, and English. She works in the field of preconception and assisted reproductive technology and very much interested in prenatal genetic counseling. Over the past 4 years, she works at reproductive medicine clinics internationally in both United States and Canada, and she had the opportunity to work in Shanghai for a year and have taken an interest in the genetic counseling landscape in Asia.
