Cape Breton University is committed to providing quality health care and services to meet the needs of students, faculty and staff. We strive to promote and enhance the good health and well-being of the university community. The NDHCC offers confidential health services to registered students, staff and faculty can access these services if they do not have primary care and are on the 811 waitlist. The NDHCC is a collaborative health care centre with nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians and mental health counsellors on site working together to meet the needs of our patients.

Mental Health

Services related to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental health conditions, including therapy, counseling, and psychiatric care.

Mental Development Evaluation

Assessment of a child's cognitive, emotional, and social growth to identify developmental delays or disorders. This evaluation helps determine appropriate interventions and support.

Mental State Opinion

An assessment of a person's current psychological condition, including mood, behavior, thoughts, and emotions. This evaluation is conducted by a medical professional to determine the individual's mental health status.

Mental Health Consultation

A meeting with a mental health professional to discuss concerns, symptoms, and potential treatment options. This consultation can help assess and diagnose various mental health conditions.

Perinatal Mental Health

Assessment, treatment, and support for mental health conditions that arise during pregnancy and the postpartum period.
