In a recent interview with Global News, Thomas Jankowski, CEO of Medimap, discussed the critical role of technology in alleviating long wait times in British Columbia’s healthcare system. According to Jankowski, BC has some of the longest wait times in the country, with patients waiting over 2.5 hours on average, and the situation has worsened over the past three years.

Jankowski emphasized, “I see that frankly as the only solution that we have right now,” highlighting the importance of digital platforms like Medimap in providing timely healthcare access. Medimap helps thousands of patients across Canada find the shortest wait times and available appointments at various health services.

During the Health Tech Conference in Vancouver, Jankowski urged lawmakers to embrace technological advancements to reduce administrative burdens in hospitals and clinics. “Most of the admin burden that’s getting reduced at hospitals and clinics is getting reduced only because of technology, not because of actual regulatory changes,” he stated.
