I have a blood clot in my leg and I have been prescribed medication. I would like to know if I should stay mostly lying down or if I should walk around.

Based on the information provided in the conversation, it is recommended to not be completely immobile if you have a blood clot in your leg. It is advised to avoid intense or prolonged physical efforts, but to still get up and walk around periodically once the swelling and pain have subsided and anticoagulant treatment has begun. Walking during DVT treatment is important for your recovery and studies show that it does not increase the risk of complications. Start with short walks around your home and gradually increase your activity level as you feel better. Make sure to follow up with your healthcare provider for further guidance and if you have any questions or concerns.
