BackgroundDr. McCrodan was inspired to focus his career on neurovisual performance shortly after graduation. He had been observing an appointment with a 50-year-old patient who had been successfully treated for a reading/learning disability caused by an underlying eye movement and processing problem. The patient shared that he thought he didn’t like to read because he was stupid – only to realize it had been a problem with his eyes. Since some of his undergraduate was spent in engineering, Dr. McCrodan realized that this was simply the engineering of the visual system. The software that controls how our eyes work, and how we process what they see.
