Highlighting some of the providers that work at this clinic

Dr Kirsten Borle

Dr Kirsten Borle

Optometrist

Background

Dr. Borle has a special interest in pediatric optometry and vision therapy. Upon graduation from optometry school in Boston, she furthered her education by completing a Pediatric Residency where she worked alongside both optometrists and ophthalmologists at children’s hospitals, community health centres, and private clinics.  Dr. Borle’s experience in these diverse settings means that she is comfortable working with patients of all ages and abilities.

Pediatric eye care is important to Dr. Borle because the visual system develops throughout childhood, and an intact visual system is one of the necessary building blocks to set children up for success. Even children who may not appear to be struggling with their vision will benefit from an eye examination, as vision involves much more than just the need for glasses. It is recommended for children to have their first routine eye examination between 6-9 months of age, or sooner if there are any specific concerns.

Dr. Borle also offers vision therapy. These are individually tailored programs which train the visual skills needed for eye teaming, tracking, and focusing. These skills are essential for success in learning, and can also be disrupted by injuries such as concussions. People of all ages can benefit from training the visual system to ensure that the eyes and brain work well together.
