About
Indigenous Psychological Services is a mental health practice located in Edmonton's west end, serving clients from across the city and surrounding Alberta communities. The clinic operates out of Suite 104 at 10335 172 Street NW, in the T5S postal area, and is open for administrative support Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Appointments can also be booked online for added convenience.
At the heart of this practice is a commitment to culturally informed psychological care. The team includes Indigenous psychologists and mental health professionals trained in Indigenous counseling approaches, ensuring that clients receive support that genuinely reflects their cultural backgrounds and lived experiences. This is not a one-size-fits-all model. Care here is shaped by an understanding that mental wellness looks different for different people, and that historical and intergenerational trauma plays a real role in how people experience and seek help.
The practice welcomes individuals from all walks of life and is proud to offer a safe, inclusive space for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Every person who comes through the door is treated with respect, and the environment is intentionally designed to feel like a sacred, affirming space where all voices are heard and valued.
Beyond individual counseling and psychological support, Indigenous Psychological Services also provides specialized training and workshops for organizations looking to build genuine cultural competency. These sessions are led by knowledgeable professionals and are designed to create meaningful, lasting change in how institutions approach Indigenous wellness.
For those navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, or other mental health concerns, finding a provider who understands cultural context can make a significant difference in the therapeutic relationship. This clinic works to bridge that gap, offering trauma-informed counseling that honors the whole person. Whether you are seeking one-on-one psychological support, looking for a culturally grounded therapist, or exploring professional development options for your team, this Edmonton-based practice offers a thoughtful and community-centered approach to mental health care. Reaching the clinic by phone or through online booking makes taking that first step a little more accessible.
