Can forgetting a birth control pill and having unprotected sex cause spotting?

. Hello. Missing a pill can result in spotting or mini bleeding, or even a premature start to your period. It is possible that the unprotected intercourse could have occurred at a time when you could become pregnant. I recommend that you consult your pharmacist who will ask you more in-depth questions in order to determine the best course of action. This may include emergency oral contraception, and/or starting your next pack of birth control pills without a break, or even consulting a doctor quickly. I hope this helps.
