It is recommended to continue applying the Cerave cream frequently throughout the day. If the hydrocortisone cream has not been effective, you may want to try using hydrocortisone 1% ointment, available over-the-counter. If your child is wearing a bib, it may be causing friction and worsening the irritation, so taking a break from bibs for a few days could help.
