I had my lip sewn up 7 days ago following a dog bite. 8 external stitches and 5 absorbable stitches inside. They removed the external stitches after 5 days. Is it normal for the absorbable stitches to start falling out after 7 days? And is it normal for it to be numb?

It is not uncommon for absorbable stitches to start falling out after 7 days, as they are designed to dissolve over time. It is also possible for numbness to occur after a wound like a dog bite, as small nerves may have been damaged during the incident. Numbness may persist to some degree, but over time it may improve. It is important to monitor the wound to ensure it does not reopen.
