I have a bump in front of my ear near the jaw joint. Painful to the touch. Without a family doctor, should I go to the emergency room?

If you have a bump in front of your ear near the jaw joint that is painful to touch, it is possible that a swollen lymph node is the cause. This can happen in response to an infection in the throat or ear. If you are not experiencing a fever, it is recommended to avoid touching the bump until Tuesday. If it is still large and painful at that time, it may be best to consult a doctor. In the meantime, you can try taking Advil™ for the pain.
