I have been taking continuous birth control pills for 2 months now, and for the past week, I have been having daily spotting of blood. Is this normal?

It is normal to experience spotting during the first three months of taking continuous contraceptive pills. It is recommended to take a break for a few days when spotting occurs, by either taking placebo pills or not taking any pills at all for 3-4 days. It is important to not take a break if less than 21 active pills have been taken or to take a break for more than 7 days, as this may decrease the effectiveness of the contraceptive. If these criteria are not followed, emergency contraception may be necessary.
