I think I have an infection from a piercing; how should I treat it?

If you believe you have an infection from a piercing, it is important to treat it promptly. Symptoms of an infection from a piercing may include redness and warmth around the wound, swelling in the area, excessive tenderness or pain when touching the wound, and the presence of foul-smelling yellow or greenish discharge. Initially, you can try cleaning the piercing with a saline solution for the first 48 hours to help with disinfection. If the symptoms persist for more than 48 hours or if you develop a fever above 38°C, it is advisable to seek medical attention. A doctor may prescribe antibiotics to help clear the infection and prevent any complications. It is always best to address any concerns about infections promptly to ensure proper healing.
