My 10-year-old daughter has had an earache for a few days. What should I do?

If your 10-year-old daughter has been experiencing ear pain for a few days, you can try using Polysporin™ ear drops for swimmer's ear, which you can get at a pharmacy. The pain should go away in less than 3 days. You can also give her Advil orally for the next few days. To prevent swimmer's ear in the future, after she comes out of the water, you can try putting 2-3 drops of a mixture of 1 tablespoon of diluted vinegar in 1 cup of warm water in her ear. This will help to acidify the external ear canal and reduce the risk of developing swimmer's ear. Hope this helps!
