My 6-year-old son has dandruff on his scalp with itching. I tried Head and Shoulders but without success.

It is common for young children to experience dandruff and itchiness on their scalps. This can be caused by skin conditions like eczema or seborrheic dermatitis, or simply by dryness, especially in the winter. To help with this issue, it is recommended to wash the hair frequently with a gentle, non-medicated shampoo. If this doesn't work, there are medicated shampoos available over the counter. It is advised to try a new shampoo for 4 to 6 weeks to see if it is effective. In the case that one type of shampoo doesn't work, it is worth trying a different one like Nizoral, applied twice a week. Remember to follow the instructions on how to use the shampoo properly for the best results.
