Seasonal allergies and swollen red patches on the face of a 4-year-old child. What should I do?

To help alleviate seasonal allergies and red, swollen patches on a 4-year-old's face, you can apply 0.5% hydrocortisone cream (Cortate™) under the nose (but not near the eyes) once upon returning indoors. Encourage the child not to touch their face while outside to prevent further inflammation. Additionally, continue giving the child Claritin™ or a similar children's allergy medication. A medical consultation may not be necessary at this time.
