Why doesn't oxycodone relieve me as much as Dilaudid (hydromorphone)?

It is possible that the oxycodone is not providing as much relief as the Dilaudid because these two medications work differently. It is important not to take two oxycodone at the same time as this could be dangerous. When you run out of hydromorphone, it is possible that your pain may increase. It is generally safe to take your pain medications along with your other regular medications, but it is recommended to take esomeprazole at least 30 minutes before the others to allow it to work better in your stomach.
