Good morning! 10 days ago, I started a gastro, but only from the bottom (diarrhea, abdominal cramps). Since my cramps have decreased, but my stools do not come back as before. Is it normal that it is so long to recover from a gastro? Should I consult?

The doctor's response: It is relatively common to observe loose stools for a few days to 2 weeks after gastroenteritis. If this is the case, everything should be back to normal within 3 or 4 days. Probiotics can help/accelerate recovery. However, it is possible that this is not gastroenteritis. If your diarrhea or abdominal cramps increase, or if the diarrhea persists beyond 2 weeks, you should consult a doctor. In addition, if you observe blood or matter in the stool, or a temperature (fever), you must consult immediately. If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to contact me.
