Several medications can increase alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels. Statins, which are used to lower cholesterol, are known to do so. Taking high doses of Tylenol™ can also raise ALT levels. It is recommended to check with your pharmacist if any medications you are taking could potentially increase ALT levels.
